Moving around during your pregnancy will help you to adapt to your changing body, labour and getting back into shape after birth. If you are someone who has always been exercising, it is fine to continue with your daily physical activity unless you have been advised by your healthcare team not to. However, if you are someone who rarely exercises it is important you do not take up any strenuous new work out but rather start with something slow and gradually increase your sessions. Exercise is not dangerous for your baby. There is some evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour. If you have nay doubt consult with your maternity team. As a general rule you should not exhaust yourself and you may find that you need to slow down as your pregnancy progresses.
