Dealing with headaches/dizziness

Dealing with headaches/dizziness

Headaches are common in pregnancy and usually eases as your progress in your pregnancy. It's important to be aware that headaches can be a sign of preeclampsia which needs monitoring and can be serious, but preeclampsia only occurs after 20 weeks. Speak to your midwife or GP before you take any medication to help ease the symptoms but usually a low dose of aspirin or paracetamol is prescribed and should only be taken in the shortest amount of time as possible. Some other ways to help can be:

  • Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration or sip on water throughout the day
  • Get lots of rest throughout the day
  • Make sure you are sleeping enough
  • Try to do activities that help you to relax such as, yoga

Faith post could be about easing tension headaches in a spiritual way (less worrying, listening to quran etc)
